Use the Power of EFT Tapping to Heal Your Body
Trauma is an inescapable part of human existence. Throughout our childhood and adult lives, we experience traumatic events and store memories of those events in our subconscious mind. We then develop patterns of behavior and coping mechanisms based on those experiences, which dictate the way we live our lives.
Over the years, trauma memories or repetitious thoughts based on fear and anxiety can impact the quality of our health, as the route of most disease stems from stagnant energy and trapped emotions. If our bodies are reliving negative past events or are in fear of what is to come, we are in a constant state of fight-or-flight. The body cannot heal in this state, which is why it is imperative to find ways to release those stored emotions so our bodies and minds can reset and recover.
One powerful way to release negative emotions is through EFT, otherwise known as emotional freedom technique. EFT, developed by Gary Craig, is an alternative treatment for combatting stress and anxiety that involves tapping the meridian energy centers of the body. By tapping on these meridians, we are helping to balance and realign the flow of energy in our bodies.
Tapping fires signals to the amygdala to calm down and relax. This allows the body and mind to rest and be more present.
EFT is easy to learn and simple to apply. First, one must identify the problem, acknowledge the issue, and accept themselves despite the problem. This involves reciting a phrase while tapping the energy centers of the body.
The phrase often used is “Even though I have this [problem or fear], I deeply love and accept myself.” Once you have established the issue and created your phrase, it is time to start tapping.
EFT focuses on nine main meridian centers:
Karate chop (outside of hand)
Top of head
Eyebrow
Side of the eye
Under the eye
Under the nose
Chin
Beginning of the collarbone
Under the arm
Start by saying your phrase and repeating it three times over while tapping on the karate chop point. Then, shorten the phrase to the problem itself: “I am [problem or fear] of this” while tapping each meridian center with two fingers.
Once completed, take a deep breath in and release. Test the intensity of the problem or fear. If it still feels prominent, repeat the tapping process until you feel completely relieved and free of the emotional entrapment.
You then can perform a tapping round that feeds you positive mantras and affirmations:
“I have the strength to overcome this.”
“I love myself”
“I am enough.”
“I choose to see the light in all things.”
“The universe is working in my favor.”
